Accounting General Ledger Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is a “working” management position. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining an accurate general ledger and the management of the day-to-day operations of the accounting dept. The day to day operations include, but are not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing to customers, reporting on cash and weekly receivables/payables and purchasing functions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Data Accuracy - Responsible for the financial data that is recorded and reported to the business having the highest degree of accuracy with minimal error rates and delivered to the business at the specified time
  • Report and Analyze Financial Information - Responsible for weekly reporting of the current state of the business provided at the specified time.   
  • Support Monthly and Annual Close Processes - Responsible for period end closing to include the posting of inventory, processing of sales commissions and all other general ledger entries.  In addition, this position is responsible for preparing month-end financial reports, maintaining the balance sheet and distribution of reports to the management team within the specified time.
  • Reconcile Accounts - Responsible for reconciliation of cash and all other accounts.
  • Prepare Journal Entries - Responsible for making all journal entries throughout and at the end of the period.
  • Sales and Use Tax - Responsible for coordinating with customers to ensure that we have active exemption certificates on file and for tax remission to the states where we have Nexxus.  
  • Supervise up to 5 individuals responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, billing to customers, payroll.
  • Other Activities as Assigned - From time to time, we have associates absent from work, requiring that other team members support that position if needed.  In this role, you are responsible for supporting other team members when they are absent from work.

EDUCATION:

  • A business or finance degree is required with less than 10 years’ experience. No degree required with more than 10 years’ relevant experience.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with use of Excel, Word, Email, Google docs, crystal reporting
  • Detail oriented with exceptional communication skills
  • Three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment including the processing of payroll.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

Pre-Press Technician Operator Commercial Printing Industry

Walton Press, located in Monroe, Georgia, is a Commercial Printing Company offering high quality printing in both heat-set and cold-set processes. We are currently interviewing for a Prepress Technician. Candidates must have 5 years of experience as a Prepress Technician, with a demonstrated ability to make Qualified, Independent Decisions while working within a Team Environment. Candidate must be proficient in Imposing, pre-flighting, and correcting files for offset printing using Kodak Prinergy Workflow and have a working knowledge in the following Adobe applications: InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator. Entry Level Manufacturing Press

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Moving skids in and out of work area, using pallet jack/electric pallet jack.
  • Bind product with strap or string tie manually or with foot pedal/hand operated machine.
  • Stack product on a pallet in the order specified by the pressman/supervisor; constant bending and stooping required.
  • Palletize finished products at a pace determined by the press; observe product to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Make sure that the correct skid tags are placed on the skid and product counted correctly. All counts must be 100% accurate. No tolerance for inaccurate counts.
  • Check product for proper quality characteristics (offsetting, gusset or wrinkle, ink, register, etc.)
  • Clean area and equipment when the machine is down or in make-ready.
  • Work on rejects if needed.
  • Set up Stacker with new job requirements.
  • Transport the product to staging.
  • Observe all safety practices, report unguarded/unsafe equipment and all unsafe work practices.
  • Other assignments as given by the supervisor or management

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 year experience in a production printing environment preferred but not required
  • Able to write, speak, read, comprehend, and execute basic written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to use a tape measure and use basic tools (box / open end wrench, etc.)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Capable of performing in a fast-paced environment

Stitcher Operator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Adheres to and promotes all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to read and interpret information from job ticket.
  • Reports to Bindery Manager any concerns to ensure that both the technical and workflow issues are addressed.
  • Ensures that saddle-stitching equipment is optimized and operating within required standards in terms of process controls, planned maintenance schedules, make ready and running standards.
  • Communicates with Bindery Manager on validity of standards and expectations from the project plan.
  • Responsibly and accurately records productivity.
  • Able to trouble-shoot and problem solve.
  • Responsible to coach, train, and direct any bindery workers in executing tasks when they are assisting on the stitcher.
  • Operates other bindery equipment when necessary to maintain the flexibility of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About the Job

The Bindery Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to finishing product, working closely with the VP of Operations to ensure the success of the department. This position is not only responsible for production and inspection of all finishing work, but also verifying that such work meets customer and Walton Press requirements and quality standards.

Job Description

Responsible for first-line direction of non-exempt employees involved in bindery operations. Reviews production schedules, material and manpower resources. Assigns employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. Informs assigned employees of production and material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve problems affecting schedules. Ensure staff is trained and practices safe work habits when operating equipment. Resolve production issues that arise and keep management informed of issues. Participate in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures. Maintain a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods and the like.

  • Minimum 3 year in Bindery Management or 3 years as a lead binder operator

  • Two or four-year degree, printing-related trade school or traditional college education within the industry
